100NO 307: How To Slow Down But Improve Productivity As You Get Older
Monday Feb 18, 2019
Monday Feb 18, 2019
There’s a social expectation – be it amongst business, parents or community – to be busy. Whether that’s frantic, rushed or overcommitted, all are seen as almost noble and worthy of praise and perceived as oozing productivity.
On this episode of 100 Not Out we discuss whether the natural slowing down that ageing creates means that we are not able to produce at the same level. We discuss how priorities shift over time, how working 80 hours per week seems less attractive with age, even if those days were enjoyed (either as a parent, entrepreneur or overworking employee), and how to embrace the changing pace of life without losing the productive edge.
Quality beats quantity, particularly as you get older. We hope you enjoy this podcast and that it sheds a new light on productivity.

We continue our conversation on synchronicity and sliding doors moments with more real-life examples from our own personal lives and those of our friends.
We share a recent story from Cyndi O’Meara about her unknown connection to Brandon Bays, plus we share some incredible family and career moments that go beyond the realm of random coincidence.
Marcus recounts the dots that allowed him to first meet Damian (which actually began in Ireland), and Damian shares the synchronicity that allowed him to meet and eventually marry his wife, Amber.
The lesson: don’t discount the synchronicity that has existed in your life. Take the time to reflect on your life with a series of “if, then” questions and particularly look at how some of the toughest moments in your life may have sowed the seeds of incredible gifts.
** LONGEVITY EXPERIENCE 2019 ***

Do you remember the movie Sliding Doors with Gwyneth Paltrow?
In this episode we reflect on how some of our guests have experienced great joy, love and success only after going through harrowing experiences.
We use World War Two survivors Eddie Jaku and Ada Murkies as examples, who both fell in love with their life partners during or after the war. Would they have met their soulmates if it were not for the war? And then what of their children? Would they have been born?
Marcus and Damian both share personal examples. Marcus wonders if he would have been born if his grandfather’s first wife didn’t die shortly after giving birth to their tenth child. And Damian reflects on how he met his wife, Amber, and the synchronous and sliding doors moments that brought the two of them together.
An insightful, deep and meaningful episode of 100 Not Out.
*** MORE DEEP & MEANINGFULS IN IKARIA ***
If you loved this conversation, imagine doing it over looking the Aegean Sea on the Greek Island of Ikaria, also known as the island where people forget to die. Damian & Marcus return for the third time to run the 100 Not Out Greek Island Longevity Experience, and you’re invited. 100NO 304: Was Jeanne Calment – the oldest person ever – a fraud?
Monday Jan 28, 2019
Monday Jan 28, 2019
Controversy surrounds the longevity and genterology world with the possible indentity fraud committed by Yvonne Calment. A recent research project has claimed that Yvonne, Jeanne Calment’s daughter, may have taken over her mother’s identity in 1934 when Jeanne possibly died. The records stats that Yvonne, aged 36, is the one who died.
Confused?
Hang in there, this story gets juicier. Photos, anecdotal stories and physical milestones (such as Jeanne’s extraordinary height in her later years) add layer upon layer to this plausible but not definite outcome that Jeanne Calment as we know her was actually her daughter, Yvonne.
To find out more, listen to this episode and then delve into this three part series of articles on Medium.

100NO 302: Damian’s 2019 Predictions For Food, Diet & Movement
Monday Jan 14, 2019
Monday Jan 14, 2019
Another New Year, another set of predictions from Damian Kristof. Rarely does he get his predictions wrong (he did get one wrong a couple of years ago, which he shares in this episode).
After a big year in 2018, what is the future of the vegan diet? What are the buzz terms will be looking out for and adding to our health vernacular in 2019, and what ingredients will be add and withdraw from our kitchen stable?
If there’s anyone qualified to make considered predictions on the future of health and wellness, it’s Damo. With over 20 years clinical experience as a naturopath, chiropractor and nutritionist, plus the added experience of over 10 years as a food manufacturer, Damo has a broad understanding of all elements that make things popular and on the nose.
*** THE ISLAND WHERE PEOPLE FORGET TO DIE ***
In September this year Marcus & Damian will be picking grapes, making wine, picking olives and making olive oil, swimming in the Aegean Sea, hiking, picking wild peppermint and making essential oil, farming and eating a “paddock to plate” lunch and so much more. These activities will be done with a group of like-minded people for 10 days on the 100 Not Out Longevity Experience on the Greek Island of Ikaria.

100NO 301: These 5 Questions Will Make Or Break Your 2019
Monday Jan 07, 2019
Monday Jan 07, 2019
This time of year is rife with people setting goals and new years resolutions, quickly failing and then moving back in to the same old same old life of comfort and mediocrity.
What if, instead of just trying to set a goal, we asked ourselves some deep and meaningful questions and actually honestly answered them?
What if then we set “goals” (such a boring word) around those answers rather than what we see other people doing on our social feeds.
In this episode of 100 Not Out, Marcus asks himself, and you, these five questions and provides his own answers, whilst also inviting you to do the same.
The Five Key Questions
Q1: Are you loving where you live?
Q2: Are you loving how you spend your 9-5?
Q3: Are you loving your rituals? Morning / Evening / Weekends / Any others? Share mine
Q4: Are you loving the way you move?
Q5: Are you loving the people you surround yourself with?
LINKS
In question 4, Marcus referred to the MOVI Workspace Desk.
In Question 5, Marcus referred to The Wellness Basecamp in Fremantle, Newcastle & Auckland.
The Wellness Summit, The 100 Not Out Longevity Experience and Exceptional Life Blueprint Live in Byron Bay were also mentioned.
The books he is reading at the moment is The Artist’s Way and I Am Malala.

100NO 300: 300 Not Out | The Anger Crisis
Monday Dec 31, 2018
Monday Dec 31, 2018
The triple century is raised on 100 Not Out as we celebrate almost six years of podcasting.
As 2019 is upon us we discuss the unsavoury topic of the increase in anger humanity seems to be experiencing and expressing. No longer is our laissez-faire “she’ll be right” “no worries” attitude dictating our behaviour.
Instead, we are a country angrier than ever. From road rage to social media rage and the overexaggeration of “bad things” happening to “good people”, we discuss the challenge and great opportunity to improve the quality of our lives by improving the strength and resiliences of our emotional and mental muscles.
Wishing you an incredible 2019 ahead and we thank you so much for being a part of 300 wonderful episodes.
