It seems that we have done a full 180 degree turn since the rise of COVID.
Where it once felt that people who had COVID were the sickest of the sick, many businesses are now expecting their team to work from home whilst they have COVID.
Where has our empathy for illness gone?
Has the word convalescence been removed from our dictionary and our behaviour?
Damo has COVID for the third time - and even though he has had plenty of support - we discuss how society's behaviour has changed so much in a very short period of time.

Welcome to our 10th birthday episode of 100 Not Out!
Whilst many of us would like to go back in time for a few moments, techpreneur Bryan Johnson wants his organs - all of them - to return to their 18yo selves.
Click here to find out more.
Not only does he have a team of doctors to perform hundreds of procedures on him each year (some more invasive than others), he has an incredibly strict vegan diet (1977 calories to be exact) and a number of rituals to accompany his mission.
It's not our cup of tea for how to make the rest of your life the best of your life, but that doesn't mean Bryan shouldn't be doing what he thinks is best for him.
What do you think? And how does this shake your views on what it takes to age gracefully?
You can email marcus@marcuspearce.com.au or damian@damiankristof.com with your response.
Thanks for your support over these 10 years!

100NO 519: Arthritis is not a normal part of ageing
Monday Mar 13, 2023
Monday Mar 13, 2023
Around 20% of the population live with or are impacted by arthritis.
What is it, why does it occur and how do we go about improving the health of our joints?
There are hundreds of arthritides (forms of arthritis), and today we focus on osteoarthritis (the most common form of arthritis).
From "wear and tear" to the undiagnosed and untreated incidents we've let develop over the years, we cover off all the major causes of osteoarthritis and discuss whether it's genetic, lifestyle driven, stress-related and so much more.

Australian Masters Games General Manager Jane Woodlands-Thompson joins us on 100 Not Out as we discuss what it takes to defy the stereotype of ageing in Australia.
One of the biggest one-liners in society is around "slowing down" as we get older, but for the 10,000 legends who compete at the Australian Masters Games, they have no intention of slowing down at all.
Held from the 7-14 of October in Adelaide this year, the Australian Masters Games is an incredible showcase of everything 100 Not Out is about. Ticking the boxes of movement, social engagement, growth and purpose, we can't wait to create a 100 Not Out team in the future and participate at such an incredible event.
For now, we highly recommend you put a friendship group together and join thousands of like-minded souls at the Australian Masters Games.

Part two of our fascinating conversation around chronic disease focuses on some of the limiting beliefs society has around ageing, genes, family history, and the quality of our future.
So many of us have been conditioned to believe there's next to nothing we can do about our health because of the lives our parents lived.
On this episode we discuss how genes really work, how important our lifestyle is to those genes expressing themselves, and why if we don't change our beliefs about fatalism and the ageing process, we simply end up on the stats that show 12+ years of morbidity.
This is a fiery episode of 100 Not Out, we hope you enjoy!

On this special two-part episode of 100 Not Out we explore the impact of chronic disease on longevity.
The statistical truth is that chronic disease in the modern advanced world is not enough to stop someone living a long-time.
But even with all the medication and treatment in the world, chronic disease creates a tidal wave of physical, financial, familial and emotional stress.
So what are the main causes of chronic disease, and how can we prevent it as we go about our lives?

100NO 514: The real and personal reason why longevity burns in our soul
Monday Feb 06, 2023
Monday Feb 06, 2023
So many people think Blue Zones and longevity and "Ageing well" is such a luxurious conversation ...
Many people think longevity is a "wellness hack" you do by exercising, eating the latest diet and practicing mindfulness.
But when you consider how terrible the final 12+ years of life is for most people, it's clear that longevity - and quality longevity - is not some luxury item, but an urgent life skill we must master.
On Ikaria, the locals experience 80% less dementia, 50% less cancer and 20% less heart disease.
Think of that for a moment. We go to Ikaria to experience how these people achieve these incredible results.
And why a life free from dementia, cancer and heart disease is within our grasp too.
Our group to Ikaria for this year's 10Day Longevity Experience in June must be finalised by February 28. At the time of publishing this podcast we have 4 spaces left. For all the details and to apply to join us, visit www.100notout.com or email marcus@marcuspearce.com.au

100NO 513: Clare Bothmann is 100 Not Out and thriving
Monday Jan 30, 2023
Monday Jan 30, 2023
Clare Bothman has not only lived through multiple wars (like all centenarians), she has witnessed the introduction of "town" water, electricity, television, telephones, mobile phone, the internet, and so much more.
It's quite incredible when you consider how much change can take place in 100 years.
But most impressively is the way Clare has handled adversity in her life.
Having grieved for her first husband and all three siblings (who all died from cancer), Clare knows a thing or too about living with grace whilst going through tough times.
Enjoy this chat with another thriving centenarian in Clare Bothmann.
For more info on Clare, you can read this article.
